ORIMtec Medical Director
Dr. Douglas Enoch has practiced neurosurgery in the Sacramento
area for nearly 30 years.
During his career as an accomplished neurosurgeon, Dr. Enoch
incorporated intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring
(IONM) into his complicated spinal and cranial cases. Drawing
upon his academic and medical education, which includes a
master’s degree in neurophysiology, and his extensive
experience using IONM during surgery, Dr. Enoch has been instrumental
in developing the ORIMtec reputation for quality health care
that distinguishes the organization today.
As Medical Director for ORIMtec, Dr. Enoch
performs a wide range of medical and technical
quality assurance activities, including:
- Quality control review of all neurotechnologist
(NT) intraoperative monitoring reports and activities for
accuracy and competence.
- Ongoing discussion with NTs about intraoperative
monitoring reports relevant to technical quality assurance.
- Observation of neurophysiologic monitoring
techniques and protocols in the operating room.
- Collaboration with independent physicians
who provide ORIMtec with online, real-time remote supervision
to ensure that interactions between doctors and NTs meet
optimal technical quality standards.
Dr. Enoch communicates regularly with ORIMtec
staff to review and evaluate monitoring techniques and biomedical
computer equipment. He also assists ORIMtec in developing
and maintaining appropriate medical policies, standards and
protocols, and makes recommendations for revising and improving
technical applications.
